MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion (58IB), in partnership with the Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center (RTC)-Tagoloan, held the distribution of individual starter toolkits for the Produce Organic Concoctions and Extracts training (Leading to Organic Agriculture Production) NC-II and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC-I held at the Covered Courts of Jasaan, Balingasag, and Medina.
A total of 125 individuals benefited from the said activity, all of whom are scholars under the Special Training Employment Program (STEP). Seventy-five of the total number are from Barangay San Nicholas, Barangay I.S. Cruz, and Barangay Danao from Jasaan, Misamis Oriental. Likewise, 25 beneficiaries are from Barangay Linabu, Balingasag, and 25 from Barangay Bangbang, Medina, Misamis Oriental.
The distribution of starter toolkits was part of the ongoing effort to empower individuals or communities, specifically the People’s Organizations in the area of Misamis Oriental, by equipping them with the necessary tools to start or enhance their livelihood activities.
Through the whole-of-nation approach to ending communist armed conflict, the 58IB and TESDA-Misamis Oriental hope to sustain the gains made by the government in the previous years. (58IB/PIA-10 Misamis Oriental)
