CLARIN, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--The Local Government of Clarin held their first-ever Municipal Fire and Rescue Olympics in celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month with the theme "BIDAng Pilipino: Building a Strong Well-Being towards Disaster Resilience" at Zoraidas Park.
This is in collaboration with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMO) and BFP personnel.
The four teams that competed in the Municipal Fire and Rescue Olympics were Team Kaakibat, CSO (Overall Champion), Team Fire Flies, LGU Base (1st Placer), Team Flames Fighters, Rescue Team (2nd Placer), and Team Fire Fighters, Selected (3rd Placer).
The activity showcased the readiness and capabilities of the MDRRMO personnel in responding to disastrous fires and other emergencies by strengthening their capacity, building disaster community resilience, and institutionalizing arrangements for reducing or enhancing disaster preparedness.
The activity was graced by Mayor Engr. Emeterio D. Roa, Jr., in collaboration with Municipal Vice Mayor Riza O. Delos Santos, Clarin Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMO), headed by Carmelito C. Heray, and BFP Personnel headed by OIC, Municipal Fire Marshal SF03 Angelito A. Dagumbal.
