QUEZON CITY -- As part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to support all Filipino athletes who are working hard to put the Philippines on a high pedestal in world sports, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) invites students and teachers to support the Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup on August 25 to September 2.
“Sa ngalan ng Commission on Higher Education, iniimbitahan ko po and ating mga guro at mag-aaral sa lahat ng antas na manood ng FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 na gaganapin sa Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan ngayong August 25 hanggang September 2,” said CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup Local Organizing Committee offers a 50% ticket discount to students and teachers who will be attending the opening ceremony on August 25, 2023 at the Philippine Arena, as well as for selected games from August 26, 2023 to September 2, 2023 in the premium upper box, regular upper box, and general admission categories.
This discount can be availed by presenting a School ID for students and PRC ID for teachers at any TicketNet or SM Ticket outlet.
Students and teachers from the National Capital Region, Region 3, and Region 4A in particular are highly encouraged to attend the FIBA Basketball World Cup games.
Malacañang has already suspended classes and work in public schools and all government offices in Metro Manila and Bulacan on 25 August for the opening ceremonies of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 at the Philippine Arena.
“Sama-sama nating suportahan ang mga atletang Pilipino sa darating na FIBA World Cup 2023! Sabay nating isigaw ‘Puso para sa Bayan’, ” De Vera said. (CHED)
