TESDA launched barangay-accessible project in Sibugay

IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY, August 17 (PIA) - A range of week-long activities is pipelined to mark the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) 29th anniversary.

The celebration includes friendly sports and skills competitions, a fellowship night, a world café experience, and distribution of scholarships.

The event was highlighted by the recent launching of the Barangay Access to Skills and Scholarship Opportunities (BASSO) and TESDA Serbilis programs, held at the Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute in Kabasalan, this province. These initiatives are aligned with TESDA Secretary Sohuarto Mangudadatu's 10-point agenda to enhance skill and education opportunities.

BASSO program offers skills training and scholarships to  barangay residents through short-term courses in high-demand fields like food processing.

These courses target high-demand jobs, providing beneficiaries with practical skills for employment or entrepreneurship.

TESDA Serbilis program on the other hand, streamlines access to services, including online course applications and progress tracking. "TESDA Serbilis" combines "TESDA" and "serbisyo," reflecting TESDA's commitment to efficient service delivery.

Engr. Alan T. Bacatan in his message during the launching said “ with this program, we provide prompt and accessible services to all,” while TESDA Regional Director Tarhata S. Mapandi for her part aspired for the program to benefit the entire community.

The launching of  BASSO and TESDA Serbilis reflects progress, altruism, and empowerment, underscoring TESDA's dedication to the Filipino people. ( NBE/JPA/ RBI/ PIA 9 Zamboanga Sibugay)
