MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)--Governor Henry S. Oaminal intensifies his commitment to building a brand new province that is marked as safer, fairer, and more prosperous while continuously adapting and thriving throughout his leadership.
In the realization of this aim, the administration is remembered to have crafted a vision dubbed Asenso Misamis Occidental, an endeavor focused on spotlighting the pursuit of nurturing their tourism destinations and venturing into agricultural and investment hubs that shall be known in the whole island of Mindanao as God-loving, family-centered, and empowering people to live in a safe, secure, and disaster-resilient environment.
Oaminal stressed that through this effort and alongside the competent and dynamic leaders under his helm, he intended to be inclined towards achieving a sustainable economy for the betterment and ease of the lives of Misamisnons.
"We can all bear witness as our beloved Misamis Occidental moves progressively to a more dynamic provincial government that will fully realize its vision and fulfill its mission to its constituents and stakeholders," he said.
Oaminal underscored that, in consistency with his previous initiative, his vision is also fully grounded in the 5Ms, which stands for Misamisnons Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon (Misamisnons to live peacefully, productively, and joyfully).
Amplifying dev't agenda
Pushing for a leveled-up standard of living for his entire constituency, Oaminal said that he is more dedicated to fostering industries that belong to the regional development agenda and are also adopted and promoted by the province.
Among these is promoting and investing in agriculture, fishery, and eco-cultural tourism programs in accordance with their goal of making a name in the agri-fishery and eco-cultural tourism sectors.
For agriculture, Governor Oaminal brought into reality his program called Asenso Rice Farmers Full Assistance, targeting to sustain food self-sufficiency levels through giving aid to farmers, whom he acknowledged as heroes bringing food to every household's tables.
In this manner, he saw that the yield or output of the rice farmers would be increased, the production cost lowered, and the total income pulled up.
Apart from agriculture and tourism, Governor Oaminal underlined the provision of affordable and accessible health services as another priority, especially for those classified as underprivileged, maintaining that a healthy life leads to a happy and prosperous community, while healthy communities result in a stronger local economy.
Digging into this prime concern, he mentioned that for many years, he has always heard challenges pertaining to the congestion of hospitals and insufficient medical supplies and equipment, among others.
Due to this, Oaminal recognized the drastic necessity to materialize feasible remedies, and improve their health spaces.
"We saw the need to really upgrade our hospital facilities to cater to the overwhelming health needs of our people," he said.
Keeping grounded on 'Asenso' mission
From being a former representative of the people until he was officially hailed as the dad of the province, Oaminal retained his image of being a public servant who is determined as ever to pave the way for more chances for all Misamisnons.
Serving then as a legislator from the second district of the province, he directed his focus on attracting more opportunities and resources for areas under his jurisdiction, believing that this would help his province flourish throughout the time.
With stronger perseverance, Oaminal set out for a higher position in the last national and local elections, where he clinched his current seat and garnered high-level expectations from the populace.
He then vowed to be much more eager to make his province one of the top five tourist destinations in Mindanao by pouring millions of budget into the construction of access roads leading to the potential tourist spots.
Seizing unity from all officials and stakeholders, Governor Oaminal was confident that in the next two years, his province would eventually emerge as one that is favored on the investment map of the country.
"We can all bear witness as our beloved Misamis Occidental moves progressively to a more dynamic provincial government that will fully realize its vision and fulfill its mission to its constituents and stakeholders," he added. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
