CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Impact Evaluation (IE) Team of the National Economic and Development Authority - Regional Office X (NEDA-X), together with the Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), participated in a two-day capacity-building activity on Quantitative Analysis Using R Software from 9 to 10 August 2023 in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
To expose the team to the subject area, a reconnaissance activity took place on 11 August along the Gingoog City- Claveria -Villanueva Road (GCVR) in Misamis Oriental.
These recent activities are vital steps in implementing the GCVR Impact Evaluation Study. The project, which is funded by the NEDA-United Nations Development Programme Strategic Monitoring and Evaluation Project, aims to assess how the construction and opening of the GCVR impact the household income and economic dynamics in conflict-affected or vulnerable areas, particularly those along the route covering Gingoog City and the municipalities of Villanueva and Claveria in Misamis Oriental.
The study’s findings and results are expected to be ready by the end of this year. These will serve as crucial inputs for policymakers in pushing for programs, projects, and policies that promote peace and security by spurring economic progress through improved road connectivity.
Dr. Karl Robert L. Jandoc, the IE Project’s Technical Adviser and Chairperson of the University of the Philippines School of Economics; members of the IE Project Steering Committee and Technical Working Group from NEDA-X led by Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora B.
