CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro -- The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro will conduct the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF) on September 4 to October 24 in all cities and municipalities of the province.

There are nine (9) Census Area Supervisors (CAS), nine (9) Assistant Census Area Supervisors (ACAS), 26 Team Supervisors, and 144 Enumerators (ENs) who were hired and trained to ensure complete census coverage, data reliability and accuracy.

The undertaking is pursuant to Executive Order No. 352, otherwise known as the Designation of Statistical Activities that will generate critical data for decision-making of the government and private sectors, issued on July 1, 1996, which designates the regular conduct of the CAF every 10 years with the objective of providing government planners and policy-makers with data on which to base their plans for the country’s development.

The 2022 CAF aims to determine the structural characteristics of agriculture and fishery sectors in the country; to provide sampling frame for the conduct of periodic agricultural and fishery surveys; to provide basic data on agriculture, aquaculture, and fishing characteristics for the government’s national and local development planning; and to provide data on the agricultural, aquaculture and fishery facilities and services available in the barangays.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially all the sample households and establishments to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA.
