PGMO officials, employees grow flowers to develop MisOcc tourist sites

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)--More than 1,500 officials and employees in the province participated to replicate best practices in environmental protection and conservation for a greener Philippines through the 1st Plant Run at the Asenso Global Gardens in Tangub City.
In celebration of the 123rd celebration of Philippine Civil Service Month 2023, Vice Governor Rowena Gutierrez stressed that this activity showed that the development approach in the province is holistic under the Asenso administration team headed by Governor Henry Oaminal.

She also said that despite the current modernized yet beautiful world, people should not take for granted their responsibility to take good care of the environment, as it is vital for everyone’s survival.

"A family that plants together stays together; that is the PGMO Asenso family," said Vice Governor Gutierrez.

Governor Henry Oaminal, on the other hand, saw the flower planting activity as a contribution to the development of a good and attractive tourist destination in northern Mindanao, which is the Asenso Misamis Occidental Global Gardens.

"With strong determination, gawas nga healthy ang atong lawas, healthy sad ang atong pangandoy sa pagkab-ot sa pag-asenso [aside from a healthy body, our dreams are also healthy to achieve progress]," he said.

The governor shared that he believed that with avid dedication, the PGMO workers could crusade for healthy constituents who could help in sowing potential contributions geared towards advancing the province as a booming tourist destination.

The plant run is part of the ecotourism initiative of the current administration to promote the tourist destination in the province, boost economic activities, and uplift the quality of life of the Misamisnon. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
