MANILA -- Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman met with Malaysia's Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Dato' Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony, on September 18, 2023. 

The courtesy visit included discussions on how the Philippines and Malaysia can further enhance trade relations and increase investment opportunities in agriculture, the digital economy, Islamic Banking, and Halal Industry, among others.

Also present in the meeting were DBM Undersecretary Goddes Hope O. Libiran and Assistant Secretary Romeo Matthew T. Balanquit. 

Last July, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. held a three-day state visit to Malaysia where the administration secured about USD 285.0 million in investment pledges from Malaysia's business sector which is estimated to generate over 100,000 job opportunities in the Philippines. (DBM)
