PH, AUS to gear up for Exercise Dawn Caracha 2023 in Palawan

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (WESCOM) -- The upcoming bilateral exercise, Dawn Caracha 2023, is set to enhance the cooperation and interoperability between the Special Operations Forces of the Philippine Army and the Australian Defence Force. The exercise will take place in the joint operations area under the control of the AFP Western Command (WESCOM).

Scheduled from October 16 to October 27 in El Nido, the exercise will primarily focus on conducting Counter Terrorism Operations and special operations, showcasing the capabilities of the two forces.

Preparations for Dawn Caracha 2023 began on October 7, as troopers conducted pre-exercise movements and operational briefings. The exercise presents an opportunity for both units to showcase their skills, strengthen their partnership, and foster increased collaboration.

The exercise aims to enhance collaboration in tackling complex security challenges in the country's western front by emphasizing interoperability and joint efforts within the Wescom's operational area. Furthermore, Dawn Caracha 2023 will also definitely contribute to regional security and foster closer cooperation between the Philippines and Australia.
