The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro launched the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration on wheels on September 13, which aims to saturate and bring closer the services of PhilSys to Mindoreños.

The registration team went to Barangay Balite, Calapan City where 55 registrants were registered and 39 ePhilIDs were issued. The PhilSys registration on wheels will rove around in all barangays of Calapan City to register individuals who do not have much time to go to the Fixed Registration Center (FRC) at Nuciti Central Mall in the city.

PSA Oriental Mindoro will also bring the PhilSys registration on wheels in the neighboring municipalities of Calapan City.

As of September 15, a total of 689,589, aged 5 years old and above were successfully registered in the PhilSys. PSA Oriental Mindoro also operates mobile registration in the municipalities of Victoria, Pola, Gloria and Bongabong.

Republic Act (RA) No. 11055, otherwise known as the PhilSys Act, aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and residents of the country. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is mandated to be the implementing agency for R.A. 11055. (PSA)
