CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, PILI, CAMARINES SUR -- The 9th Infantry Division (9ID) Strongly condemns the cowardly shooting incident of a former rebel in Brgy. Guinlajon, West District, Sorsogon City on Satuday, October 14. 

Rey Esposado, known as Ka Rigor, a former CTG member, tragically lost his life in this senseless act of violence when two Communist NPA Terrorist members, Ariel Duave (alias Blackjack) and Carl Mark Berania (alias Macoy), shot him several times, leading to his immediate death.

This act constitutes a blatant violation of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, as it took the life of a former rebel who courageously chose to abandon armed struggle and reintegrate into mainstream society.

Our Spear Troopers are actively engaged in comprehensive intelligence operations to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects responsible for this heinous act.

Major General Adonis R. Bajao expressed his condolences to Rey Esposado's grieving family, who are enduring unimaginable pain during this difficult time. He stated, "This inhumane act is unacceptable in the eyes of the Almighty God and the law. We are committed to bring the perpetrators to justice and urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist in bringing those responsible for this crime to justice."
