The Commission on Population and Development 7 conducted a capacity building activity on the three core programs of the Philippine Population and Development Program (PopDev), namely: Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning, Adolescent and Health Development, and Population and Development Integration, with a planning design workshop in the implementation and localization of POPDEV strategies on October 16-18,2023.

Held at the Hiraya Siquijor Beachfront Inn, Solangon, San Juan, Siquijor, the activity was participated in by all the population officers/designee from the six municipalities in the province, together with their Sangguniang Bayan Chairs on Health, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Presidents, and Public Health Nurses. 

Three resource speakers from Region 7, namely Michael Pacios, Sybel Ibona, and Malou Alorro discussed the three core programs of POPDEV. 

The activity is in compliance to Executive Order No. 138 on the full devolution of certain functions of the executive branch to the local government units and the implementation of POPCOM's Devolution Transition Plan, which aims to empower Filipino families. (CMSabellano/PIO San Juan)
