OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)-- Six Dimaluna Integrated School students have received praise and rewards from the Asenso Ozamiz administration under the direction of Mayor Lawyer Indy Oaminal.
 
The gesture comes in response to their remarkable display of honesty after discovering a wallet containing P60,000 while walking along Dimaluna Highway.

Under the direction of Vice Mayor Simplicia "Bebie" Neri, the Ozamiz City Council approved Lorlie Fuentes Cipres's commendation, which became official through Resolution No. 464-2023. The resolution acknowledges the exceptional actions of Aron Tomial, Marky Caballero, Kenneth Gomolon, John Rey Barroga, Niño Ezekiel Qen Atad, and Clyde Pepito.

Aron Tomial, a Grade 9 student, and his classmates promptly turned over the discovered wallet to their teacher on November 17, 2023. The wallet was successfully returned to its grateful owner.

The Asenso Ozamiz administration praised the students for their "commendable actions," considering their exemplary conduct that positively influences the public's moral conscience. The resolution highlights the inspirational nature of such actions, fostering a culture of honesty and responsibility within the community.

As a token of appreciation, the six model students received a surprise cash gift on December 27, 2023, as a personal Christmas gesture from Oaminal. Additionally, they were treated to tokens of appreciation and enjoyed a delightful meal from a well-known fast-food chain, alongside Ozamiz City Councilor Lorlie Fuentes Cipres and Councilor Dingky Suizo.
