OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- The provincial government of Misamis Occidental has a new set of officers and a board of directors for the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB).
The election of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) provincial federation was orderly and went smoothly, Pablio L. Benitez, Jr., provincial director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Misamis Occidental, said.
Salvador JR. Cabaitan Canlas, barangay captain of Tabid, Ozamiz City, was proclaimed president of the LnB Misamis Occidental Chapter during the election held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Capitol Drive, Oroquieta City, on January 12.
Also elected were Nanieth Maerl Bandala Acosta of Barangay Poblacion I, City of Oroquieta, as Vice President of the Misamis Occidental Chapter, and Barangay Sinonoc, Sinacaban, Angeli Alegado Lood, as auditor.
Meanwhile, Freddie Bocayong Malicse of Barangay Lapasan Clarin, Joseco Arquiza Roa of Barangay Ospital Aloran, Ken Allen Barcenas Lawas of Barangay Don Bernardo Calamba, Emilou Mananggit Animas of Barangay Poblacion Sapang Dalaga, Mildred Manlangit Acuno of Barangay Pangabuan Tangub City, Rodulfo Malinao Jr. of Barangay Baybay Bonifacio, Samuel III. Lague Parojinog of Barangay Pan-ay Diot Tudela, and Jonjie Pasiol Balangao of Barangay Sibugon of Lopez Jaena were voted as members of the Board of Directors.
The newly elected officers are expected to promote programs and projects for the total development of every village in the province.
They should also support the effort in the campaign against crime and corruption and promote decency, integrity, and honesty in the barangay. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
