OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- Ozamiz City and other local government units (LGUs) in the province achieved a 100% passing rate in the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) assessment of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), signaling a commitment to transparency and responsible financial management.
The achievement underscored the dedication and vision of Mayor Henry F. Oaminal Jr. and other local leaders in upholding good governance practices. Meanwhile, Gov. Henry Sevilla Oaminal Sr. was pleased with this honor from the DILG.
The Good Financial Housekeeping certification from the DILG served as concrete evidence of the diligent utilization and meticulous auditing of public funds by the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental.
It reflects their unwavering commitment to accountability and transparency in financial matters.
To secure a passing grade in the GFH assessment, LGUs must meet specific criteria, including obtaining an unqualified or qualified most recent available Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Opinion for CYs 2021 or 2022 and ensuring compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy requirements.
This milestone is a cause for celebration and serves as a testament to the collective efforts of all LGUs in Misamis Occidental towards achieving excellence and progress.
As the province looks towards the future, the commitment to good governance and responsible fiscal management remains unwavering, ensuring the continued prosperity of Misamis Occidental and its constituents. (LGU Ozamiz/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
