CAMIGUIN (PIA) -- Fourteen Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPA) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office-10 have started to supply goods and food needs of the three Camiguin LGU-run centers for their clientele.
The associations delivered the goods and food to Catarman District Hospital, Camiguin Youth Welfare Home, and Camiguin Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center after DSWD Field Office-10 Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen and Camiguin Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo signed a memorandum of agreement on June 23, 2023, together with 25 national government agencies for the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP)-10, linking and tapping the associations to supply the food requirements of the facilities run by the Provincial Government of Camiguin.
EPAHP-10's Regional Program Coordinator, Mariecarl Monterosso, and the SLP Project Development Officers and Partnership Officers linked the associations to the food requirements of the clients inside the centers.
These facilities provide daily meals for the clients.
"The Camiguin LGU would save time, fuel, and effort in going to the market and, at the same time, would help the SLPA beneficiaries in Camiguin ensure the sustainability of their livelihood projects," Monterosso said.
The SLPAs include the Cuna Subucan Grower, Catohuganian, Binaliwan Sweet, Bangon Poblacion, Urchin, Manuyog Hot Mama, Poblacion Zamora, Bonbon 2023, Aktibo Maac, Greeni, Mary Grace Maamo, Benonian Mussel, and other SLPA individual members based in Camiguin province.
They supplied chicken, pork, fish, vegetables, spices, and condiments.
The associations recently delivered the goods to the centers during a simple turnover ceremony on February 8. (DSWD-10/PIA-10/Camiguin)
