628 Calamba senior high school learners attend DOLE-10 labor education

CALAMBA, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- A total of 628 senior high school students were educated on labor laws and regulations as future workers by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on February 6, at Don Mateo Matunog Gymnasium, Calamba, Misamis Occidental.

DOLE-10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) Chief Ebba B. Acosta said the Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) Program of the Department capacitates the students to be work-ready. She said the student attendees were from the College of Communication, Information, and Technology (CCIT); Liberation Institute (LI); Calamba National Comprehensive High School (CNCHS); and Sacred Heart College of Calamba, Inc. 
 
Discussions focused on the basic rights and responsibilities of workers and employers, General Labor Standards (GLS), work orientation on cover letters and resumes, job interview protocols, creating supportive relationships with others, and labor market updates.
