OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Regional Director Erwin N. Aquino and Provincial Governor Henry S. Oaminal bolstered their partnership in implementing DOLE's programs during a courtesy visit to the governor recently.

Aquino said the forging of stronger ties was highlighted in the discussions on key agenda items, including the province’s continued support for DOLE’s flagship programs.

He promised to do more to help Misamisnon workers find good jobs through programs like the Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, which provide emergency jobs and grants for workers' livelihoods. Oaminal fully supported this new strategy, which will improve the quality of inspections for small businesses to make sure they follow General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health.

Meanwhile,  a total of P3 million worth of emergency employment wages were paid to 678 disadvantaged Jimenez constituents through the DOLE TUPAD program at the Jimenez Farmers Cultural and Training Center, Misamis Occidental.

DOLE-10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office Chief Ebba Borbon-Acosta said each beneficiary was paid P405 per day for their 11 days’ work doing social community projects. The payout was through the accredited co-partner, Jimenez Municipal Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (JMEMPCO).
