PLARIDEL, Misamis Occidental (PIA) -- To bring services closer to farmers and fishers, the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) inaugurated on February 16 the LANDBANK Plaridel Agri-Hub, the very first commercial bank in the municipality.
The LANDBANK Plaridel Agri-Hub is a one-stop shop providing banking, lending, and agrarian services for residents of the 61 combined barangays of the municipalities of Plaridel and Lopez Jaena, including over 23,000 farmers and fishers.
The strategic location of the Plaridel Agri-Hub in Barangay Panalsalan allows customers to conveniently perform their transactions without having to travel to Oroquieta City for over 30 minutes or to Dipolog City for more than one hour to reach a LANDBANK branch and lending center, respectively.
The newly inaugurated agri-hub features an automated teller machine (ATM) for fast, safe, and convenient cash withdrawals and a Digital Corner where clients can open a deposit account in 15 minutes or less using the LANDBANK Digital Onboarding System (DOBS). The Plaridel Agri-Hub is one of the five LANDBANK Agri-Hubs located in Mindanao, which complements the operations of the LANDBANK Oroquieta Branch and the LANDBANK Zamboanga del Norte Lending Center.
There are currently 16 LANDBANK agri-hubs across the country, strategically located in the top rice-producing provinces. This forms part of the bank’s efforts to meet the developing needs of all players in the entire agriculture value chain.
LANDBANK Agri-Hubs offer banking services such as account opening, withdrawals, and check encashments; lending services such as the processing of loan applications; and agrarian services such as the processing of Agrarian Reform (AR) bonds and the handling of agrarian-related concerns from landowners, bondholders, and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
LANDBANK is the only bank present in all 82 provinces in the country, with a total of 607 branches and 58 provincial lending centers, servicing the requirements of a diverse customer base, including unbanked and underserved areas. (Landbank/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
