MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA)-- Construction worker “Toto” (not real name) received P12,000 in monetary claims from his labor complaint filed under the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Single Entry Approach (SEnA).
Toto had labor monetary complaints from his employer over non-payment of minimum wage, holiday pay, and illegal dismissal, which led to financial difficulties and stress in an already demanding job. It directed him to file a Request for Assistance (RFA) to DOLE-10 Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO).

"Dako ang akong pasalamat sa tabang nga akong nadawat gikan sa DOLE. Kini nga experience wala lang nakasulbad sa akong problema sa pinansyal apan nakapabalik usab sa akong pagtuo sa serbisyo sa gobyerno. [I am grateful for the help I received from DOLE. This experience not only resolved my financial worries but also helped me regain respect for government services]," he said.
DOLE-10 Buk PFO Chief Raul Valmores said Toto was just one of the 375 aggrieved workers who received their due compensation, totaling P18,909,818.53, as a result of the successful interventions under SEna for the year 2023.

Valmores said these efforts underscored DOLE-10’s commitment to creating a fair, speedy, and efficient platform for resolving labor disputes.
"These achievements not only showcase the program's effectiveness but also demonstrate the dedication of all involved parties in ensuring fair and just treatment for workers, thereby enhancing industrial peace," he said.

SEna is an administrative approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement procedure for all employment issues. Its goal is to prevent these issues from escalating into full-blown disputes. (RLT/KJCP/DOLE-X BukPFO/PIA 10/Bukidnon
