Bangsamoro Youth Commission launches tracking system for BARMM youth programs

MARAWI CITY (PIA) -- The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) launched a tracking and monitoring System on February 27 that will evaluate the effectiveness of various youth-centered programs and activities implemented by the ministries, offices, and agencies in the Bangsamoro region.

This initiative aims to address the challenges posed by the lack of a centralized digital platform to assess the impact of youth-focused initiatives.

The BYC responded by developing a web-based system that allows stakeholders to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

“We needed an efficient solution that would enable us to track and evaluate the progress and implementation of these youth-centered initiatives. We can streamline our processes, improve transparency, and enhance accountability in our initiatives for the youth,” said BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong

He highlighted that the monitoring system will enable the current government to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improving youth programs through data analysis.

“BYC has developed a web-based monitoring and evaluation system. We will be able to store and access essential details on project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics, among others,” Macasalong said.

The project outlines specific objectives by creating a secure web-based platform, comprehensive database development, user training, ongoing support and maintenance, and providing the necessary tools for effectively monitoring youth-related programs and projects.

BYC is a government-led agency mandated to perform policy-making and coordinating functions in all aspects affecting the youth. It ensures compliance with the BARMM regional government programs and activities affecting the Bangsamoro youth.

The introduction of this system underscores the government of the day’s dedication to inclusive, responsive, and high-quality social services that empower Bangsamoro people to achieve their full potential. (BIO/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
