MARAWI CITY (PIA) -- A new housing development is about to commence in Daguan village in Kapatagan town, Lanao del Sur, following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Bangsamoro Government, represented by the Ministry of Human Settlement and Development (MHSD), and the Local Government Unit of Kapatagan.
The Housing Development Project, costing P43,717,800 and funded under the Special Development Fund 2022, comprises 50 residential units priced at P764,400 each, an entrance archway named 'Darussalam Village' at P793,800, and a solar-powered water system level III amounting to P4,704,000.
“We believe that we have delivered, and we are delivering. It is the tagline of the MHSD: ‘MHSD delivers.’ In Shaa Allah, on our part, as long as the local government fulfills the requirements, there will be no delay in the release of funds from the MHSD,” said MHSD Minister Hamid Aminoddin Barra.
Situated at the southern tip of Lanao del Sur, Kapatagan faced chaos and devastation during the all-out war in 2000, resulting in widespread displacement. The upcoming housing project, scheduled to commence next month, brings optimism to the local government for further developments, with a steadfast commitment to supporting the tangible gains of the peace process.
“Makakaasa po kayo na kung ano ang nasa MOA ay yun din ang makikita niyo pag natapos ang project. Kami po ay pro-development. Aayusin natin ang Kapatagan at ang buhay ng mga taga Kapatagan,” said Kapatagan mayor Raida Bansil-Maglangit.
[Rest assured that whatever is in the MOA is what you will see once the project is completed. We are pro-development. We will fix Kapatagan and the people of Kapatagan.]
As the housing arm of BARMM, MHSD aims to provide homes for over a thousand underprivileged and needy families in the region within the year, aligned with the 12-Point Priority of Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim. (BIO/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
