The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Mimaropa was deemed as the second most outstanding region in the Population and Development (Popdev) Localization Strategy at the recently concluded 55th anniversary celebration of the Commission held at Nasugbu, Batangas from February 20–23, 2024.
The theme of the celebration, “CPD: Empowering Filipino Families and Communities Amidst Demographic Change,” highlighted the crucial role of the agency in fostering sustainable development amidst evolving demographic dynamics.
This award recognizes the relentless effort of CPD regional offices in institutionalizing the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023–2028 across local government units (LGUs), especially the remaining demographic challenges.
At the same ceremony, Population Program Officer III and Head of Technical Services Section, Mark Laurence O. Guilles, also received recognition for “exemplary performance, dedication, and commitment that greatly contributed to the agency's population and development programs.”
“This notable achievement is our way of extending our sincerest gratitude to our partners and stakeholders at the local level, for remaining steadfast in their co-ownership of building a future where every Mimaropan can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society,” CPD Mimaropa regional director Reynaldo O. Wong said.
In the spirit of the celebration, CPD reaffirms its commitment to empower not only the Filipino families and communities but our partner institutions as well. (CPD)
