Nestled in the heart of Dapitan City, the City Information Division News and Creative Studio housed at the Dapitan City Hall, emerged as a trailblazer in the realm of communication. The Information Studio also serves as a beacon of information, casting a spotlight on local events, policies, and initiatives. With the goal of keeping residents, businesses, and visitors informed, the studio takes center stage as the city's primary communication platform.

Mayor Seth Frederick P. Jalosjos expressed his excitement about this visionary initiative, saying, “Our administration recognizes the importance of reliable information and is taking steps to establish itself as a center of information in the city." His desire to put up a state-of-the-art facility that commits to truth, transparency and public service has come to life with the launching of the News and Creative Studio

“We are dedicated to delivering up-to-date information about policies, events and initiatives, ensuring that every resident is well informed and educated by establishing this studio,” he said.

The esteemed presence of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director General Jose A. Torres during the launching and ribbon-cutting ceremony further emphasized the studio's national significance in ensuring that the citizens have access to the information they need.

“This studio will be a gateway to  credible information not only for the city but for the country as well, where the community quench their thirst for knowledge and make informed decisions about their lives and the future of our beloved Dapitan City,” he said.

Highlighting the city's diverse offerings, the studio serves as an enthusiastic promoter of various city services, programs, tourism and events. By showcasing the community's strengths, achievements, and unique characteristics, the studio fuels a sense of local pride and attracts potential investors, businesses, and tourists alike.

In a whirlwind of news and media outlets, the City Information Division acts as a calm center, expertly handling media relations. The studio serves as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and press releases, ensuring accurate and consistent information reaches the public through various channels.

The studio's inauguration also strengthened the city's relationship with the media. Director General Torres commended the city's commitment to collaborating with journalists, emphasizing the significance of accurate information in responsible journalism as a transparent and accountable government that thrives in partnership with a robust media landscape.

“I am confident that the studio will contribute to the city’s success, not only for the city but for the whole province,” DG Torres said.

Mayor Jalosjos unveiled the studio's plan to leverage social media and interactive platforms to connect with the community directly through live feeds, live broadcast of shows through their official Facebook page -City Government of Dapitan. The present administration recognizes that social media serves as a virtual town square, where conversations flourish, ideas converge, and citizens find a united voice.

The studio will also launch and relaunch several shows like “Tala-walk with me in Dapitan”, a lifestyle magazine show featuring tourists destinations of Dapitan City; “Sustansya para sa Masa”; weekly News Cast; “Dapitan Karon”-weekend ; and “Pakig-hinabi,” a talk show featuring the accomplishments and updates of the LGUs. 

This News and Creative studio will transcend traditional communication methods, fostering deeper public engagement and encourage citizen participation in local matters.
