ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Governor Imelda "Angging' Quibranza Dimaporo called on local chief executives (LCEs) and barangay officials in Lanao del Norte to “set aside politics” and help those most affected by the health crisis.
"Let start first by taking care of our people, set aside politics una. Unahon nato ang maayong pagkahimutang [sa atong mga constituents]. We cannot give all of them a good life, we cannot feed them all but at least unta atong maatiman ang atong mga kaigsoonan," she said during the 2nd quarter joint Provincial Peace and Order Council and Provincial Anti Drugs Abuse Council (PPOC-PADAC) meeting Wednesday, June 30.
[Let's start first by taking care of our people, set aside politics first. Let's put the well-being (of our constituents) first. We can't give all of them a good life, we can't feed them all but at least we should take care of our people.]
The governor instead enjoined the LCEs to continue fulfilling their responsibilities to uplift the lives of their constituents as the province continues to take action to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid)-19.
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte holds its first virtual joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council(PADAC) meeting to tackle pressing issues and concerns regarding peace and order and security situation of the province.
"Kami diri sa provincial government, wala man maundang ang mga programa nato nga ayuda sa agriculture, kanunay gihapon naa sa field ang atong mga offices, labaw na sa paghatag og livelihood sa atong mga kaigsoonan nianing pandemya nga dili kita kabalo kung kanus-a ba kini mahuman," she added.
[We, here, in the provincial government, our agriculture programs and assistance have not stopped, our offices are always still in the field, more so to provide livelihood to our brothers and sisters in this pandemic that we don’t know when it will end.]
She also challenged barangay chairmen throughout the province to educate and explain to their constituents the importance of getting inoculated against Covid-19 emphasizing that although the vaccine is not the cure, it prevents people from becoming so severely ill.
Dimaporo further hopes that Lanao del Norte will have a higher utilization rate once the next batches of vaccines arrive in the province. (APB/PIA-10/ICIC Lanao del Norte)
