MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--After completing the four-day training of World Vision’s Empowering Children as Peacebuilders (ECAP), 29 youth from this City are now ready to engage more youth in peacebuilding. 

The participants are students of Dulay Proper Elementary School and Bae Inomba Blo Bacarat Central Elementary School and members of youth organizations in the City and Lanao del Sur province. 

“ECAP is one approach of World Vision to empower children to be agents of peace, transformation and healing.  It is part of Marawi Peace and Protection Project  which is now in Phase 3,” said World Vision Project Manager for Marawi Initiatives Adonis Casinillo. 

Abdulhakim Mohamad, one of the participants, shared that the ECAP Training of Trainers helped him to be a better peace advocate. 

“I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to the World Vision for providing an avenue for us to be able to mold ourselves and for coming with this initiative,” he said.  

Meanwhile, for Norjahara Ali Racman, the training made her learn how to have inner peace and deal with her struggles and problems. She also committed to share the experiences and learnings she gained with her fellow youth. (LELA/PIA-10/PIA ICIC/Lanao del Sur)
