SIQUIJOR, Siquijor, July 29  (PIA) -- Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar underscored his newly launched "Intensified Cleanliness Policy" (ICP) as he cited the clean workplaces of the province’s six police stations, particularly San Juan Municipal Police Station, during his visit here recently.

“At doon natin makikita, ang respeto. Sa labas at loob ng opisina ng police station, napakalinis. And if that will be the standard of the six police stations, masasabi natin talagang very good ang Siquijor provincial office," he said.

The PNP chief visited Siquijor to conduct field inspections of the Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO) and its six police stations.

Part of his visit was the awarding of deserving PNP personnel and stakeholders, blessing and turnover of PNP equipment to the SPPO, Oathtaking of Advocacy Support Groups, and distributoin of food packs to at least 100 beneficiaries from the six towns.

In his message, Eleazar laid out his ICP, which he said is anchored on the broken windows policy that states that small problems must be immediately addressed to prevent these problems from getting worse.

“Napakasimple lang ng aking programa sa aking maikling panunungkulan, kumuha ako ng mga programa sa ating roadmap, hindi na bago. Simply said, maliit palang tutukan na huwag ng hayaang lumaki, makahawa at maging problema, yun ang ating gagawin at napapaloob nito ang cleanliness in the offices, cleanliness in the ranks and cleanliness in the community,” he said.

Cleanliness in the offices, he said, is the literal cleaning of the workplaces which reflects discipline and respect, and eventually exudes clean thoughts and clean service to the community.

Cleanliness among the ranks refers to internal cleansing program, said Eleazar.

“Sa assessment ko, wala naman kayung problema, sa internal cleansing program, pero just as say maganda ring nalalaman dahil bahagi kayo ng buong Philippine National Police at anumang ginagawa ng bawat isa affects the whole organization," he said.

Cleanliness in the community refers to programs on the maintenance of peace and order that the President or this government invested to end insurgency, legal drugs, anti-criminality, and terrorism, he added.

Eleazar thanked the national government and local governent units with the local chief executives for their support to the organization.

He also lauded the contributions of the Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Groups and force multipliers which helped the organization to do its work effectively.

With their trust and confidence, he said they will cooperate and support the PNP which will  make them more  effective in their effort to deliver the services mandated of them. (RAC/PIA7 Siquijor)
