Iligan City records 16K health protocol violators

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) recorded a total of 16,179 quarantine violators from January to June this year.

PCol. Wilbur Salaguste, acting ICPO director, said 2,500 were apprehended for violating curfew hours while 2,887 were caught not wearing facemasks, 5,702  for not wearing face shields, and 529 for not following social distancing protocol.

Another 2,724 were apprehended for having no quarantine pass while 1,016 for violating the color-coding system.

Iligan City is strictly implementing the minimum quarantine protocols to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid)-19.

As of Sunday, July 31, the city has 2,778 total confirmed Covid-19 cases with 2,511 recoveries and  80 remaining active cases. Forty-one (41) of the active cases are admitted to hospitals while 39 are quarantined in isolation facilities. 

Covid-19 related deaths, on the other hand, are tallied at 187 since the start of the pandemic. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
