Dgte meets neighboring LGUs to foil Delta variant

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Aug. 2 (PIA) -- With the impending threat of COVID-19 Delta variant, Dumaguete City enhances coordination with its neighboring municipalities.

The City’s Emergency Operations Center led by Executive Assistant for Security Concerns retired Gen. Rey Lyndon Lawas met and strategized with officials of the adjacent towns on how to prevent or manage the threat of Delta variant, which is reported to be more contagious than the other strains of coronavirus.

The representatives of the municipalities of Sibulan, Amlan, San Jose, Valencia, Bacong, and Dauin shared valuable information and best practices with Dumaguete officials.

The operational briefing and collaborative meeting was participated in by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Lilibeth Filipinas, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Allen Froilan Cabaron II, City Tourism Officer Jacqueline Antonio, City Department of Interior and Local Government Officer Christopher Pastor and contact tracers.
