In July alone, Marelco was able to tally a total of 27 occurrences of brownouts mainly due to problems and maintenance of lines that were damaged by vehicular accidents, road widening, fallen tree branches, animals that rammed into electric wires, and other transient or unidentified causes.
Nevertheless, the general manager of Marelco assures that the electric corporation is doing its very best to legally clear all obstructions that affect the distribution lines across the province.
We have been working hard to keep our distribution lines free from obstructions. However, if you noticed, some of it are in vegetation areas making it hard to clear. But still we are ready to clear them once all permits are settled and there has been coordination with the land owner),” Sol concluded. (JDMO/RAMJR/PIA Mimaropa)
