TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Aug. 6 (PIA) --The Tagbilaran City government intensifies its vaccination drive as the city is set to deploy a mobile vaccination bus.
The vaccination bus will cater to senior citizens and persons with comorbidities who are willing to be inoculated against COVID-19 but are not able to travel.
City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II said he will soon announce the bus’s destinations once more individuals apply to be included in the mobile vaccination drive.
Senior citizens and persons with comorbidities in the city who wish to be included in the mobile vaccination drive are advised to contact Zera at 09073931492.
Aside from the vaccination bus, the City Disaster Reduction Risk and Management Office (CDRRMO) has also put up its emergency medical tent and trailer.
The tent is fully airconditioned and energized through the 16kva generator mounted on the trailer.
It is equipped with 10 patients' beds and IV stands, tables and chairs, lights, among other equipment.
If the need arises, Yap said the city can now set up the temporary infra for a field hospital anytime and anywhere.
“We do not know when this pandemic will end, but we cannot afford to sit down and do nothing. We will meet this challenge proactively by exhausting all means to stop the spread of infection,” Yap said.
The city has taken on the unprecedented task of inoculating more than half of its population, in an ambitious effort to reach herd immunity as soon as possible.
Yap encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and be part of the solution in putting a stop to the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
The vaccines for COVID-19 are made available through the coordinative efforts of the city government with the provincial government and the Department of Health.
To date, the Tagbilaran City Health Office already increased its vaccination sites and accommodated walk-ins for specified categories. (ECB/PIA7 Bohol)
