ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Filipinos who experienced serious reactions from the coronavirus disease (Covid)-19 vaccine are now covered by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
PhilHealth Northern Mindanao Acting Regional Vice President Delio Aseron II said the package was created in line with the Vaccination Program Act of 2021 which provides for indemnification for those who will develop serious adverse effects (SAEs) following inoculation for Covid-19 that will lead to hospitalization, permanent disability, or death.
He said the compensation package can cover up to P100,000 hospitalization dues or a lumpsum of P100,000 for disabilities or deaths proven to be due to the COVID-19 jabs.
"May proseso po yan at talagang kailangan ma-establish na its directly because of the serious adverse effect ng bakuna para ma-avail itong package na ito," he said.

Aseron said the program will run for five years or until the government's vaccination rollout is completed. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
