DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Aug. 20 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has received 7,020 additional COVID-19 vaccines from the national government on Aug. 19.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo thanked the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) and the Department of Health for allocating vaccines directly to Dumaguete City.
The said vaccines and thousands of auto-disable syringes were picked up by a team of personnel from the City Health Office and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at DOH-7 in Cebu.
Remollo also expects additional supplies of vaccines from DOH in the coming days to help accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination of more eligible residents to achieve herd immunity.
City Health Officer (CHO) Dr. Maria Sarah Talla reminded all eligible residents to register online or fill out the forms endorsed by the barangay health workers for inclusion in the masterlist for vaccination and to wait for the call from the CHO confirming their vaccination schedule and site.
Only those who registered and with confirmed schedule are allowed to enter the vaccination sites to avoid overcrowding, the CHO said. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
