Diffun LGU imposes restrictions as Covid-19 cases rise anew

DIFFUN, Quirino (PIA)—Following  the surge of COVID-19 cases in the municipality, Mayor May Garnace Calaunan yesterday issued Executive Order No. 28, Series of 2021  which imposes certain restrictions, limitations and regulations on essential matters and activities in the in the municipality of Diffun.

In her executive order which took effect immediately, Mayor Calaunan has directed all residents to secure travel requirements such as Barangay Quarantine Pass, Health Declaration/Certificate from the Rural Health Unit and Travel Pass from the Mayor’s Office before they will be allowed to travel and go out of the municipality.

The issuance of Travel Pass shall be every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (MWF) and schedule of Travel shall be every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (T Th S).  Only 150 Travel Passes shall be issued in every scheduled day.

Company-issued working pass must be valid for 15 days only and renewable every 15 days thereafter.

Furthermore,   bikers and riders from outside the province are temporarily not allowed to enter and  tourist sites in the municipality will be temporarily closed to travellers.

Calaunan also reiterated that curfew hours in the municipality pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 11, Series of 2020 is not yet lifted, hence it is still in full force and effect from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Those who are below 18 years and those above 65 years of age shall still be restricted to go out of their residences.

For religious gatherings, only 30% of the Venue Capacity will be allowed with the strict observance of the basic minimum health safety protocols.

Gatherings outside of residences shall be prohibited and gatherings at residences with any person outside of one’s immediate household shall likewise be prohibited.

Restaurants are allowed to operate but are limited to take out orders only while parlors, internet cafes, karaoke bars, cockfighting and operation of cockpits, lottery and betting shop, other gaming establishments and other similar venues, persons, or activities shall not be permitted to operate, work or be undertaken during the General Community Quarantine.

As of press time, a total of 68 new cases had been recorded bringing the total number of Covid 19 active cases in the province to 149 as compared to the 86 cases yesterday. Majority of the cases came from Diffun-50; Cabarroguis-32; Maddela-26; Aglipay-22; Saguday-12 and Nagtipunan-5. (TCB/PIA Quirino)
