ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--A road that will connect the municipality of Piagapo in Lanao del Sur to the municipality of Munai in Lanao del Norte is now underway.
Piagapo vice mayor Ali Sumandar said in an episode of Network Briefing News with PCOO Sec. Martin Andanar that the construction of the Kalengenan-Lininding road was made possible through the Bangsamoro government and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur.
The 6.35 km proposed road opening will traverse Barangays Udalo, Kalengenan, and Lininding to the municipality of Munai. According to Sumandar, 2.5 km of the road will be constructed with 6.7m paved way and 1.5m shouldering on both sides.
The Kalengenan-Lininding road is seen to improve the trading sector in the municipality when completed.
Sumandar said farmers in the three barangays can bring their produce to markets faster and at a cheaper hauling cost.
"Nakikita po namin na yung kanilang mga inaani ay iniimbak nalang nila for consumption dahil yung pambayad nila sa transpo ay kulang pa yung kikitain nila sa produkto nila," he said.
