DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Aug. 31 (PIA) --  Major Gen. Andres Centino, commanding general of the Philippine Army, has boosted the morale of military personnel in his first visit at the 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade based in Tanjay City on Aug. 27.

During his talk to the troops, Centino expressed his gratitude and support to the "Team Achiever" for their continuous effort and contributions in protecting communities from threats posed by communist terrorist groups amid the pandemic.

“Let us take the opportunity that our government’s thrust is to end the local communist armed conflict through the whole of government and whole of nation approach.  We are gaining ground and let us end this five decades of CTG’s deception for our next generation who will truly benefit from our success,” Centino said. 

As part of the itinerary in the brigade’s areas of operation, Centino also visited the Community Defense Unit Patrol Base located at Sitio Ling-ab, Brgy. San Miguel, Tanjay City where the resettlement site of the Kapatiran Negros Oriental Chapter is also located.

The Kapatiran para sa Progresibong Panlipunan, Inc., or simply Kapatiran, is formerly known as the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade-Tabara Paduano Group (RPM-P/RPA/ABB/TPG). 

The group received medical supplies which can be used during their operations through the commanding general of the Philippine Army (CGPA).

The CGPA, likewise, inspected the ongoing construction of the core shelters for the members of the Kapatiran under the PAMANA (PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn) housing project of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process being built by the 542nd Engineer Construction Battalion of the 53rd Engineer Brigade.
