Exec invites tourists to experience tourism in Nunungan, LDN

NUNUNGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--As the locality here has geared for the betterment of its ecotourism, the municipal chief executive enjoined citizens from other places to visit the municipality and witness its wonderful nature.

Municipal Mayor Marcos Mamay shared during the Network Briefing News Wednesday, October 13, that while lots of tourists already enter the town, the local government continues to advocate its tourism by publicizing its potential and the progress in the area, especially in peace and order.

“Ongoing ang development sa Nunungan. We keep on posting sa social media para makita at marealize na Nunungan ay naging peaceful at maintindihan ng mga turista natin para hindi sila matakot,” he said.

[The development in Nunungan is ongoing. We keep on posting on social media so that it will be seen and realized that Nunungan has become peaceful and so that our tourists will understand so they will not be afraid.]

Mamay highlighted that the municipality has various tourist destinations, including the Inayawan Range Natural Park which was nominated in the Asian heritage and a place for annual mountain climbing involving climbers from the islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

He also said that the area has three lakes and the largest of them all is the Nunungan Lake which is boosted by the municipal and provincial government through a tourism development plan wherein it will have its own rides, resort with floating cottages, and cable car to cross the lake.

Mamay further detailed that the municipality holds four waterfalls, five caves, and clay-type soil and wild berries or raspberries which has become an attraction recently and showcased by different media outlets.

Meanwhile, a strawberry farm will be established in three areas in the town, it will also feature the growing dragon fruits and some other flowers.

With the visible advancement of the municipality, Mamay conveyed his gratitude to the provincial government headed by Governor Imelda Quibranza - Dimaporo for their support to the municipal government.

The municipal mayor calls on tourists to see the town and enjoy its attractions.

“Ang Nunungan, very potential when it comes to ecotourism. Maipagmamalaki ang Nunungan not just in Lanao del Norte but the whole country… Dayuhin niyo po ang Nunungan. Explore and experience the potential of Nunungan,” said Mamay.
