TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) -- With some residents still hesitant to get vaccinated, mayors of Baroy, Kauswagan and Linamon municipalities called on the public to receive their jabs against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Baroy Mayor Rosa D. Olafsson said residents should protect themselves from the virus through vaccination.
"Akong giawhwag ang mga lumulupyo diri sa Lanao del Norte na magpabakuna ta. Dili ta angay mahadlok. Kailangan protektahan nato atong kaugalingon,” she said.
[I urge the people here in Lanao del Norte to get vaccinated. We should not be afraid. We need to protect ourselves.]
Mayor Rommel Arnado of Kauswagan town, said residents have nothing to be afraid of. He also shared that the vaccination is conducted from Mondays to Sundays at the municipal hall along with the mobile vaccination to far-flung barangays.
Arnado said that movement becomes limited to those who are not vaccinated. He said that their main goal is to achieve herd immunity before the new year.
“Ang pagbakuna mao na ang importante na makagawas ta aning pandemya. [Vaccination is important so that we can get out from this pandemic. Be part of the solution, not a problem,” said Linamon Mayor Randy Macapil.
Macapil said that despite that their municipality tops the vaccination rate in the province, Linamon residents who were not inoculated should still receive their Covid-19 vaccine shots. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Norte)
