DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Feb. 14 (PIA) – A P10.7-million, 100-bed satellite hospital funded by the Depatment of Health (DOH) will soon open in Talay, this city.
The primary hospital building will be equipped and staffed by the Dumaguete City government.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo conducted an ocular visit to check on the progress of the ongoing construction of the new health facility that will serve the medical needs of the residents in the upper barangays of Talay, Junob, Balugo, Candau-ay, Cantil-e, and Bajumpandan.
Remollo said once completed, he will be assigning doctors, midwives, nurses, and other health workers as well as procure the necessary equipment to make this latest health facility operational.
The construction of the satellite hospital to bring medical services closer to the people is expected to be finished within a few weeks .
The mayor also made sure that developments will be extended to the farthest barangay as part of the city’s master plan.
Remollo acknowledged the Duterte administration for all the projects that benefited the people of the city, including the Malasakit Center, free education in state universities and colleges, construction of satellite hospital in Brgy. Talay, and financial assistance to displaced workers and families during the lockdown caused by COVID-19. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
