DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, May 19 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City government has released the financial assistance to 446 families whose homes were damaged by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette on Dec.16, 2021.
The family-victims identified by their respective barangay officials and the City Social Welfare and Development Office coming from the 23 barangays here received the assistance on May 19.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo approved the release of the financial aid worth P 10,000 for each of the 36 families whose homes were totally damaged and P5,000 for each of the 410 families whose homes were partially damaged by Typhoon Odette.
With the recommendation of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer Lilibeth Filipinas, a total amount of P 2,410,000 has been allocated as assistance for the affected households and P90,000 as contingency allocation for any additional victims who will be verified and assessed to be eligible to receive the aid.
The funding is charged to the unexpended local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management or DRRM Fund/Special Trust Fund of Calendar Year 2021. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
