4Ps children-beneficiaries visit historical places

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- Some 33 students who are children of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Manila were treated to a field trip at some historical places in the capital city.

The activity was part of the joint project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development- National Capital (DSWD-NCR) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) - NCR and also as a treat to the children who recently graduated with honors.

The children mostly, Grades 11 and 12 were supervised by DOT-NCR Concurrent Regional Director Ms. Sharlene Zabala-Abatin, Operations Office 2 (District 2, 4, 5 and 6) Manila Area Coordinator Marc Jason Quejada, and 4Ps-NCR Institutional Partnership Officer Ms. April Joyce Co  during the visit to Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Rizal Park and the National Museum.

According to Co, the activity is being done regularly to inspire 4Ps children-beneficiaries  to love  our culture and history and to raise awarness on the importance tourism industry. (DSWD-NCR / PIA-NCR)
