PASAY CITY -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reports the status of airports it operates affected by Tropical Storm 'Paeng.’

In Central Luzon, Romblon, Sangley, and San Jose have cancelled flights for 29 October 2022. Sangley will also be suspending tower and airport operations due to the storm and rising sea levels. Meanwhile, all domestic flights at Clark International Airport (operated by LIPAD Corp.), have been cancelled for today.

Busuanga Airport will also be suspending aerodrome control service due to heavy rain as all flights in the airport have been cancelled.

Bicol International Airport (BIA) reports that airport and flight operations are currently suspended, with airlines cancelling flights since yesterday, 28 October. No damage has been reported in the airport’s ATS/ANS/Aerodrome Safety Office Equipment. Further, all airports in the Bicol Region, who reported no damages, are now readying to return to normal operations as the storm have passed their area.

Visayas airports (Kalibo, Iloilo, and Bacolod), meanwhile, have adjusted schedules of several flights due to ‘Paeng’ yesterday, with Roxas and Antique airports suspending flight operations since 9:00 p.m. yesterday.

At Tacloban Airport, the CAAP management has initiated the distribution of Malasakit Kits to the passengers of a delayed Air Asia flight from Manila.

Davao International Airport (DIA), meanwhile, have cancelled three flights for the day. ‘Paeng’ has also caused delays in two flights at Laguindingan Airport.

CAAP is continuously coordinating with airlines concerned as well as local government agencies to ensure the safety of both passengers and CAAP airport employees. (CAAP)
