DSWD continues providing aid to ‘Paeng’ affected residents

LAGUNA (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development - Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DSWD-DROMIC) issued on October 29 an initial report on Severe Tropical Storm ‘Paeng’.

As of 5:00 AM, a total of 97, 206 families or 409, 455 individuals are affected in 733 barangays across Regions IV-A (CALABARZON), V (Bicol Region) VI (Western Visayas), VII (Central Visayas), VIII (Eastern Visayas), IX (Zamboanga Peninsula), X (Northern Mindanao), Caraga, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

DSWD, Local Government Units, and Non-Government Organizations already aided affected residents amounting to P4,137,026.95 while there is still a P1,512,200,382.42 worth of available relief resources.

Moreover, the DSWD Central Office has P372.57 million Quick Response Fund (QRF) on standby and P72.72 million available in DSWD Field Offices (FO). This will support the relief needs of the displaced families due to Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” through inter-FO augmentation.

Moreover, 74,315 Family Food Packs (FFPs) are available in Disaster Response Centers; of which, 43,486 FFPs are at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), Pasay City and 30,829 FFPs are at the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC), Mandaue City.
