CEBU CITY, Cebu, Feb. 24 (PIA) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Office in Cebu recently distributed 208 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) or land titles to 346  Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) with a total of 296.6594 hectares under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in Cebu province.

The beneficiaries were from Argao, Barili, Badian, Cebu City, Catmon, Daanbantayan, Medellin, Moalboal, Tabogon, and Tuburan. 

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Grace Fua, in her welcome message, said the CLOA distributions were conducted simultaneously in Bohol and Negros Oriental provinces. 

The distribution was spearheaded by DAR Sec, Conrado Estella III through livestreaming.

DAR Assistant Secretary Foo Ayson, in her message, congratulated the new beneficiaries and underscored that in the implementation of CARP and mandate of DAR, CLOA distribution is the jumpstart of various support services in irrigation and infrastructure development, livelihood assistance, among others.

“The support services will be directed to thier organizations or cooperatives through the support services delivery,” Ayson said.

Ayson also emphasized that support services delivery includes the Farm-to-Market Roads, delivery of Farm Equipment, and the delivery of various Agri-Extension Services.

She also encouraged the ARBs to become a member of an Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization.

Meanwhile, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama also attended the occasion and congratulated the beneficiaries.

Rama, in his message, emphasized to the farmers not to sell the parcel of land awarded to them but to cultivate and make it productive to produce growing crops to help the farmers. 

Officer-in-Charge PARPO I Atty. Alvin Arante, concurrent chief of DAR Cebu Legal Division, discussed the rights and obligations of the ARBs and the background of CARP implementation in the Province of Cebu. (HFG/PIA7 with reports from DAR Cebu)
