Thousands to benefit from completed infra projects in ZamboSur, ZaNorte

PAGADIAN CITY, Mar 15 (PIA) -- Two infrastructure projects that will help thousands of people have been completed in Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-9.

In Zamboanga del Sur, a road concreting project that stretches from the National Road junctions of Camanga-Tabuan-Man-ilan-Manlayag to Navalan Road in the municipality of Tukuran has been completed.

The 3.268-kilometer road concreting project was implemented by the Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Engineering Office with a P92 million budget.

The completed project has resulted in greater convenience and ease of mobility of goods and services to and from the area, as well as increased accessibility to facilities due to a reduction in travel time from 45 minutes to only 20 minutes. It also opens up new opportunities for employment and increases the likelihood of further improving the quality of life in these areas.

Meanwhile, a P67.5Million project that will protect and maintain the stability of the slopes and lessen the risks of soil erosion along Sindangan-Liloy Road in Zamboanga del Norte was also completed.

The 220 linear meters project implemented by Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office, and funded by the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of CY 2022, will help protect people and the traveling public from possible damages caused by soil erosion during heavy rains and typhoons.
