BARMM gov’t invites public to visit Bangsamoro Museum

COTABATO CITY (PIA) -- The Bangsamoro Government, through the Bangsamoro Commission on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, invites the public in the region and in the neighboring provinces to visit the Bangsamoro Museum to further discover the history of the Bangsamoro people.

“Maaari pong bisitahin ninyo ang Bangsamoro Museum para po makita ninyo po, makilala, at ma-appreciate ninyo ang kulktura, paniniwala, at kasaysayan ng mga Bangsamoro,” Aaron-Jeff Usman, community affairs officer V and division chief of the Coordination and Support Services Division of the BCPCH, said during the recent PIA Talakayang Dose radio program.

Usman emphasized the importance of visiting the said museum as the facility is a living treasure of the history and rich culture of the Bangsamoro.

The Bangsamoro Museum, according to him, is located in Cotabato City and is open every Monday to Friday from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.

Usman said there is no requirement to enter the facility and the entrance is free. For group visits, he advised organizers to inform ahead of the scheduled visit by calling BCPCH at the landline number +6364 421 1470 or by sending an email to bcpch@bangsamoro.gov.ph.

According to him, there are also other museums in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao that the public could visit to learn more about the culture, history, arts, and religion of the Bangsamoro. These museums are located in the cities of Marawi and Lamitan as well as in the provinces of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

Meanwhile, to highlight the celebration of the Bangsamoro History Month, Usman said the Bangsamoro government will work on the writing of the Bangsamoro History based on the perspective of the Bangsamoro and to disseminate this not only in BARMM but to other regions as well.

He also emphasized the efforts in mainstreaming culture and heritage as part of the Bangsamoro Government’s 12-point priority agenda. This is to preserve the history, arts, tradition, beliefs, and culture of the Bangsamoro and to protect the Bangsamoro from biases. (PIA Cotabato City)
