DENR-9 invites musicians to join mini environmental concert

PAGADIAN CITY, Apr 19 (PIA) - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-9 will hold a mini environmental concert dubbed as "Cancion de Ambiente", a songwriting and singing competition, as part of Earth Day 2023 celebration. 

DENR-9 invites all talented and interested singers, musicians, and local bands, to join the first ever face-to-face "Cancion de Ambiente" on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Pagadian City Covered Court.

As a way of investing in our planet, along with the Environmental Concert, an on-the-spot Poster Making Contest for High School Students will also be conducted simultaneously, on the same venue. Talented High School students in Zamboanga del Sur are enjoined to pre-register on this link: https://forms.gle/WuDm4PK62UD4sZdo8. 

Only one representative per school in Zamboanga del Sur will be accepted and only the first 20 participants can take part in the on-the-spot Poster Making Contest.

In the venue, an environmental booth and exhibit will be set-up for the information, education and communication (IEC) materials and seedlings dissemination. This will be open to the public from 1:00 - 5:00 in the afternoon. 

On top of these, a Zumba activity will also be carried out.

These activities are organized by the DENR-9 in full force with the Environmental Management Bureau IX and Mines and Geosciences Bureau.

Earth Day is a yearly event held on April 22 to show support for environmental protection. "Invest in Our Planet" is the official theme for this year's celebration where one billion people in over 193 nations, including the Philippines, take part in the occasion.
