Creating deeper bond between US and PH

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will travel to Washington, D.C. from 30 April to 04 May 2023 on an official visit to reaffirm the relationship between the Philippines and the United States.

On 01 May, he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden. Afterward, he will be attending an expanded meeting with key Cabinet officials.

The President’s state visit aims to reaffirm the friendship which gives meaning and importance to the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The relationship is supported by the close kinship shared by Americans and Filipinos for many years already. The visit is expected to advance the efforts to further deepen their political ties and relationship in order to bring out lifelong socio-economic partnerships and improve their defense and security cooperation.


President Marcos will be advancing the country’s socio-economic and development priorities and he is also expected to harness closer partnerships in areas such as agriculture, energy, climate change, digital transformation and technology, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, supply chains, and infrastructure.


For more dynamic economic relations, the United States maintains a shared commitment with the Philippines and performs as a major bilateral trade and official development assistance partner. (ARB, PIA-CPSD)
