AYUNGON, Negros Oriental, April 26 (PIA) -- The Association of Negros Oriental Public Information Officers (ANOPIO), an aggrupation of Public Information Officers (PIOs) in the province, will join the upcoming Regional Association of Development Information Officers (RADIO-7) Convention set in Cebu.

ANOPIO President and Government Services Insurance System (GSIS) PIO Designate Risty Villahermosa announced during the association’s conference here on April 20 that the annual gathering of PIO networks in Central Visayas has resumed after four years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also extended the invitation to all ANOPIO members to participate in the said activity slated on June 28-30, 2023 in Mandaue City, Cebu.

The event aims to gather at least 100 participants from all over Central Visayas.

RADIO7 is an umbrella organization of five associations of PIOs in Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquiijor.

This annual gathering of PIO networks in Region 7 aims to equip its participants on the knowledge and the latest communication directives from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on key thrusts and programs of the current administration.

The event also aims to engage PIOs with high-ranking officials in a dialogue to further enlighten them on government actions to address important issues and enhance their role in communicating development information to the public.

This year, the RADIO7 Convention banners the theme “Strengthening Digital Information for Sustainable Tourism Development Towards Economic Recovery.”

The RADIO7 Convention is co-organized by PIA7 which also serves as secretariat for the organization.(RAL/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
